My Superpower
What is Dyslexic Thinking?
Dyslexic Thinking is my approach to problem-solving, exploring, inventing, assessing information, pattern recognition, visioning, spatial reasoning, lateral thinking, and interpersonal communication.
As a child, I was Dyslexic, but I didn’t realize it until later in life. I was embarrassed and struggled with standardized tests and staying focused. I even had trouble reading my own handwritten notes and still do today. But give me a Lego set and I could build a functional moon buggy.
Luckily, just like Richard Branson and many other entrepreneurs “Dyslexia became my Superpower”. It helped me to think and operate differently, to take risks, be adventurous, be adaptive, enjoying the creative side of my brain and ultimately, I became a Chameleon in my business endeavors.
People with dyslexia can manipulate 3D shapes in their minds. Seeing the bigger picture holistically, enabling them to focus on the important elements without getting lost in the detail.
“It’s time we started to understand dyslexia properly, as a different thinking skill-set and not as a disadvantage.”
Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). Also called a reading disability, dyslexia is a result of individual differences in areas of the brain that process language.
